it cracked? you have a pic of it? must be from the bad batch of tc drivers. i have a soundsplinter for a long time now, and it still works like a champ (whenever i actually have it in the car that is...)

and no a box can't just have holes in it for the "air" to "leak out." there's a guy on ebay that sells premade boxes that fits the contour of the 6th gen trunks.

or you can have something like this that can be made fairly easily...

if there was a best subwoofer company there would be no other subwoofers. do your research and stop asking for handouts. either that or go to your local installer and leave it in there hands.

air holes...

No need to be a 'tard either. Your question is like asking what is the best kind of car...there are different ones for different preferences, and BLACKonBLACK hit the nail on the head with his response. This forum is mature compared to other audio ones...you might feel more at home on caraudio.com.

oh damn, you got one of the older RLp's. that sucks

maybe you can get some strong epoxy and cover the crack until you get a new sub or something.

how did you do that?

You can still find used SS's on caraudio.com if you want another one.. Maybe try an Image Dynamics IDMax this time? Or you could buy AscendantMax's Fi Q.

part of having a serious interest in something is putting in some effort on your own and at least familiarizing yourself with the subject. asking for the "best sub" and jabberin about "air holes" tells me that you haven't put in any effort other than this post.

the real question is how you got your hands on a sound splinter with so little knowledge (take it personal if you want). thats a good sub and you would do just fine getting another.

im not mr. car audio i just want to know whats good and what isnt, my brother on the other hand knows alot about this **** but i thought i would take other peoples opionions once again not asking "whats the best subwoofer" just what has really good quality and affordable prices so l2 read. and me asking questions is part of me being here so id appriciate it if you didnt think of every as an expert these are fourms im entitled to ask whatever and expect answers not people putting me down because i dont know what im talking about..these forums are helping me familiarize my subject and your just not helping so just dont post...........and btw for those who want to help me if i were to get a new soundsplinter sub..which should i get i was looking at the rl-p12

is right u need to read some about other sub companies out there to help u learn more about them.

SS is fine

there is also many others
Fi, SSA, Sundown, RF, kicker 'eh', JL, and many many others
just go to an online store and search their sub section and fine one that fits ur specs

Nope. An AA sub wouldn't have cracked.

If you mean the single 15 that Gordon posted. I believe it is an SS RLP.
