How do I add subs to a factory radio? Honda Accord 2004
I tried to hook this up and can't seem to get the amp to turn on. Does anyone have the wiring diagram for a 04 Accord radio? Also this might be a stupid question but can I hook up a remote wire straight to the battery? Or do I have to splice it in with the power wire for the radio? I can't seem to get the amp to turn on I believe. I am not sure though. The subs and amps worked when I tried them a week ago.
If you wire your remote wire directly to the battery, it would always be on; not good.
I would figure the concept is the exact same as with any car.
Stock speaker wires --> inline converter --> rca --> amp --> subwoofer.

I have another stupid question. If our main power wire is too short and we added another wire that was a smaller gauge to connect from the battery to the fuse could that also be why the amp might not be powering up. (We didn't have anything else laying around.)
Assuming everything else was wired properly, it would at least power up with a smaller-than-necessary wire. It may do some weird stuff when playing, like cutting out, but it should at least turn on. Get a meter and start testing your wires to see what doesn't have voltage.
Might sound dumb but have you checked the fuse if you are using that to connect the two different gauge wire. Also, make sure you have a good ground connection as well. And another dumb question, are you checking to see if the amp powers up with the radio on? Any fuses on the amp itself? Check all of those.
