speaker question

speaker question

i have the bose system and after market h/u, i want to know if i take out and replace one bose speaker does it effect the volume n power of the speaker
bacause im trying to bypass it and all i hear is a slight pop when i turn it on n off.

I'm not sure, but I think it would. The Bose system is a propriety system that runs at 1 ohm. Most aftermarket speakers are 4 ohm. When you install it to run off of the BOSE amp it will not be as loud. I don't know if it will also burn up the amp but it shouldn't play as loud. If i'm wrong can someone else chime in and correct me.

I wouldnt expect it to hurt anything...but i wouldnt just replace one...ive never seen or heard of anyone doing that, if i had to guess, then i would put my money on (as ice said) it might not be as loud..? Unless you are bypassing the bose amp and the running the speakers off of the aftermarket h/u amp...that should be a little louder if not a hardly noticeable change

Yeah, wouldn't make sense to r2 (remove and replace) just one. If you did that, one speaker would more than likely sound different than the rest. Unless you are replacing with another BOSE speaker of the same size and year.
