Where does my bass disappear sometimes?

Sup guys, I have JL Stealthbox and JL 1/250 amp. Just recently I started noticing that the bass is not the same. Sometimes it doesn't punch as hard as it used to. For example, I drove to work this morning and I could hear the lack of bass for a minute or two, but then suddenly it comes back to normal. Maybe there's a bad wire contact somewhere? Any ideas?

Thank you.

Check your all of your grounds, RCA cables and speaker amp connections. It sounds like a loose ground to me.

Thanks, I'll check that.

If your listenting to different songs then it's cuz one song has more bass than another. Or if it's the same song maybe just varying amounts of bass. Keep in mind if you are changin speeds then you have more wind noise so you don't hear it as much. But if none of this applys then yeah try the stuff above.

All above are good suggestions. Also are you cahnging your window levels? The recent warm weather during the day has had me winding the windows down during the day, and cranking them up as the sun goes down. There is a large difference in the sound between a sealed vehicle and one that is open.

Just yesterday I tested it while the car was parked. Put one song that used to shake my car, well now it doesn't. There's bass but it's not as deep as it used to be. I haven't changed any settings on the amp or my headunit. Even my gf noticed that. Last night I was listening to some drum&bass, and you could actually hear that the bass levels varies. One second it's deep, another sec it's not. Could it be the sign of a bad amp or something?

It could be the amp, but you need to check all the wiring and power supply first. It sounds more like loose wiring. Is it strong when you first turn it on and then fades in and out, or is it changing randomly? And it could be a band tinsel lead on the sub, or partially burnt voice coil.

It's changing randomly. I'll give Tweeter a call, let them check it. It's still under warranty.
Thanks for help.
