Best Dash Kit for 4th gen Bose?
Best Dash Kit for 4th gen Bose?
I read the Bose thread and it was very helpful for my project of swapping out my bose.
However, the Double Din dash kit I see listed there specifically says it is NOT for Bose. I'm not sure whether that is correct or not.
What dash kits have people used for 4th gen bose replacements and which is the best?
I've seen a "gxe" kit mentioned as the best but its something like 150 which is more than I want to spend.
I'm putting in a fairly inexpensive double din Clarion HU DUZ385SAT.
Thanks for answering a question that has probably been asked multiple times but for which my measly search skills cannot find an answer.

If you mistyped this and mean a 5th gen, read below. If you actually mean a 4th gen, then you have a double din opening in your dash and should have nothing to post about
For a 5th gen, the GXE kit is the best option for ease of install and color matching, but the new/updated version of the Scosche kit looks decent, although I haven't done one.

There are install pictures farther down that page. It only took Scosche 8 years to make a dash kit that actually works for a 5th gen, but it looks like this one does.

Are you saying that a dask kit is not needed on a 4th gen? In other words, I can remove the bose, replace with aftermarket directly? Guess I'll have to look closely at the HU.
If so, that would explain why I'm not finding a 4th gen bose dash kit.
Thanks.
