The new Hot-ish Thread - Eclipse AVN726E

AVN726E
I had this unit installed in my car. For the amount we paid I guess Eclipse should have included text to speech option at the least for its Navigation. I have not played with ipod yet. Other than that I find the unit to be good and would give a A.
For personal information:
How do you backup the navigation software in case we need it again, specially for navigation!
What company navigation does eclipse use? Garmin, tomtom?
Is there a way where I can update / add / POI's / maps etc like how I do on tomtom for eclipse on a PC?

^^^^ I mentioned that a few pages ago.
I think the eclipse navi looks really good. Doesnt have to be 3d to be effective and that one pictured above looks 3d to me. Definitely an improvement from their older navi's. I havent heard a single complaint from anyone that owns this unit and used the navi. Its the other parts detailed towards audio that seem to be under normal standards.

Kenwood DNX9140 this freakin headunit is a monster. Don gave me the tutorial and OMG!! freakin sick... voice commands.. Ipod videos all you need. I know this is an Eclipse thread but Imo this head units blows the 726E out of the water!! I will be upgrading to this in the near future. And oh yeah you can use your Eclipse camera to work with this headunit as well.. thats as per Don. The only thing that Im not sure of is if any Manufacture can beat the warranty Eclipse has... such as 3 years on theft.

Kenwood blows chunks.....speaking from personal experience of course.
Don't get me started on them.. LOL
FYI, Crutchfield no longer had the Eclipse 6620...but weeks later....its back and at a special price of $599. Just bought one for my one of my other vehicles..

Perhaps an isolated bad experience ? Or with some of their older units, in which case I was not fond at all either. However since the 8120 Kenwood has done excellent, in fact the 8120 was the best selling double din/nav unit for 2008. Being the highest priced of all the commons, it would lead me to believe the general population with disagree with your assessment.

I wish!! But that is the one I plan on getting. Had to choose between audio upgrade and navi unit. Already had most of the components for audio so I jumped on that project

i went ahead and took the dive with this system because i couldnt afford the kenwood dnx9140 i am done messing with pioneer and their horrible navigation (atleast it was for me ended up lost more times than i ended up at right location and have to listen to wif1e bicker) I am hoping this systems navigation is better than my previous avic z1 updated to z3. my question is does anyone no the bypass for this system??? is it the same as grounding the light green wire or the ebrake wire?? any help will be highly appreciated
