Post pictures of your Ipod setup

My wife got $200 bucks for her birthday and she was like, "Ive been thinking of getting an Ipod and then we could just hook it up in the car. What do you think". I was like hell yeah. So is it worth it? Do you like yours? We use limewire to download music. Can we put those songs on the Ipod?

So post pictures (if you have them) of your setup here so I can get some ideas on how to make this look good.

Wifey and I ended up getting a $35 Sansa 4GB MP3 player. It was $35 and is easy to work with. The battery lasted the plane ride to and from on our vacation and all 1o days we were there. Used maybe 30-1hr each day. I had someone give me an Ipod to put some of my music on it, but I had to change settings and DL software to be able to put my music on it. They aren't worth the $ IMHO.

because of the direct control of the ipod through most head units today, i prefer ipods to most other mp3 players. However, many decks have USB inputs now with full control ability, so you could for much cheaper just go out and pick up a 8gb flash drive and store your music on there. If 8 GB isn't enough, get a small self powered portable HD, up to a terrabyte. And if you can fill that, then my hat is off to you..

Yeah I would like to have the steering wheel control and display on the screen. I like the look of a factory install. I would plan to leave it in the center console.

I bought the USA-Spec iPod adapter for my 5.0 gen. Works great. I ran the iPod cable under the center console and drilled a hole in the back of the cupholder:

I can conceal my iPod under the cupholder cover and not have to worry about it being visible.

As long as my speakers keep going, I'll keep the stock setup, it looks great and I can use my steering wheel audio controls too.

^^^ Great job. If I didn't use my cupholders every time I drove, I would consider this a perfect spot. I also like the idea of using the top portion of the armrest. Just a possible alternative.

If I am using my iPod and need a cupholder at the same time, I just use the rear cupholder. But anyway, to each his own.

That is what I plan on doing. I just keep thinking that if I do this whole Ipod thing, then I will only listen to the music I want to and everything will get old kind of quick. I won't have a variety like on the radio. If that makes any sense.

I used to have this setup:

Note the RCA plugs to the right of the HU. I just ran a short 3 foot cable from there to my mp3 player, in my cupholder, on my lap, etc.

edit, sorry for the large picture, too lazy to resize then re-upload.
