Garmin Nuvi 750
Garmin Nuvi 750
So I'm considering getting a GPS system for the driving I have to do for my new job. I'm considering the Nuvi 750 and wanted to know if anyone else had experiences or information on it. I'm wanting to spend around $200 or less, so let me know if you have any other suggestions.
I would suggest a TomTom, because I've heard SOME good things about them. I use a cheap one called Evesham Nav-cam 7000, it freezes up alot, and you have to wait for the GPS to configure, but its pretty nice, touch screen.
Just go to Garmin.com to find out about each one and then go somewhere else to compare prices. Garmin is extremly high on there products from the website. I know a lot of local places in my town sell them for around $200. I think I got mine (760) for around $250. Very nice has lots of options with it, games, fm transmitter (plays through car speakers), traffic, tons of different voices and cars, lots more but can't remember them all. Very user friendly. I'd go with a garmin, definitly.
Take a look at some of the Magellans as well.
I've got a Nuvi 360 and it's useful, but has some 'quirks' in the software that **** me off.
Say I want to get to Chicago from Houston, but I don't have an address for where I'm going yet. All I want to do it get headed that general direction. I can't just say "Chicago" and hit go. I MUST input an address somewhere in Chicago, even if I don't have one yet.
With the Magellan, it seemed the software was very similar in function and appearance (same programming company evidently), but you can just tell it 'chicago' and hit go. it'll get you going in the general direction and you can enter an address later.
