I Think My Subs Are Broken...
So I have two L5s given to me by a friend. Its starting to seem like sounds are missing out of the subs. Like it does not have a bass like it did when i first put them it. When i am outside of the car, u can hardly tell i have woofers and when i'm inside, its more of a bashing then bass, like they hit hard but it hurts..lol...i don't know. Does it sound like they are efed'up? I'm pushing them with a kicker 1000.1
Ouside the car...well when i had l5s, Audioque HDs, Type R's and orions before..you can hear/ feel the base outside of the car...but i cant even tell subs are in the car at this point and it was kind of wierd to me...
yea...i regret it forever, but the thing is I had 15" and they basiclly destroyed my trunk latch and removed my spoiler...plus it ws hell getting that box in and out. But after this BS, i'm gonna buy some 12" ones...
These L5s are just wack when it comes to sound...tey do hit tho..

it could be a goof in the wiring somewhere, it happened to me when i put mine in also it wasnt abd just sounded weak an it turned out i had a positive and a neg backwards on both sides flipped it an it was a major change
. Anther thing was the speakers in the rear deck were sort of cancelling the sound from the woofers out. So I took them out and hooked up the bullet tweeters in the rear door panels instead. Flawless...still want my HDs back though
Just give them more power...matter fact way more than the specs say.
Just playing....make sure your box doesn't have air leaks (ported or sealed?), double check your LPF (and HPF if you're running a ported setup), double check the polarity if you have more than 1 sub to make sure you're not running 'em out-of-phase, try measuring the VC's resistance with an Ohmmeter, should be close to the nominal impedance (but won't be exactly since it's just a DC measurement), also sometimes placement of the subs can have a big impact on the output...think about nulling or reinforcement (of sound waves).
But the other guy was right...you probably are just geting used to it...(e.g., losing your hearing).
