4th gen speaker help needed

Well, I'm in the market to replace my rear speakers in my 97 GXE, the only audio work I've done was replace the HU with an aftermarket sony one. my question is which 6x9s can I buy without doing any other mods, or if needed, can I just replace them with 6.5s? I'd like to get 6x9s if possible. If you could, recommend any speakers you'd use.

Thanks,
Fish

6.5 is the correct size...you can fit 6.9 but youll have to widen the hole a bit

exactly what he said.. the 6x9's will just be too much of a pain and doing that kind of damage to your car is never good.. i have pioneer all around im my maxima and they sound awesome.. but i would recomend infinty 6x5. they are super clear and if you are looking for some base out of them you could always invest in a small amp to power the speakers
