alpine or clarion

i have narrowed down to these head units alpine's cda-7977 Alpine or clarion's dxz-715 Clarion. the only difference i can see between the two is alpine has a slightly better signal to noise (105 to 100) but the clarion has 24 bit d/a converters and alpine has 1 bit. also clarion has better fm reception. the alpine has audio video inputs too or somethin. pleeaaassssee help thanks

all the clarion radios ive heard have really bad reception. i had the tape and cd double din clarion and the reception and the quality was shi**y. i have kenwood now and the sound is much better. I say stay with alpine.

Specs to what you are referring to, I doubt very seriously you will hear a difference at all between 100-105db range. Reliability wise I would stick with the Alpine. Even better go with Eclipse

Click on their website: www.eclipse-web.com
Their decks are not that expensive...they start at $229.00 or step it up to about $269.99 and you get 3 preouts, 2.7V preamp section, cd changer controls, 3 year warranty, 1st year over the counter exchange and if someone breaks into your Max within the first year and steals it, Eclipse will send you a new one. In the industry, Eclipse is known to have the best sounding cd player in the market...
