96 Bose Stereo problem

when i bought my car the headunit didnt work. he said it worked then he went out one day and it just stopped working. while i was driving it sometimes it would just cut in and out randomly. so i got an Alpine headunit from a friend and got it wired up and cut the car on.......NOTHING!! so we thought it could have been a bad headunit so we tried it in a friends wife's accord. it cut right on. i went yesterday to a Nissan performance shop and they happen to have 3 Bose headunits. i tried all 3 of them and none of them turned on. the only i could hear is the antenna going up and down and when i pressed eject it made the whinning noise that it should. any ideas what could be wrong??

Checked your fuses? BOSE and both "audio" fuse's?
Have you checked to see is the original BOSE amp turns on?
You should hear a click when you turn it on.

probably gonna end up taking it to a stereo shop and just getting new speakers, wires, headunit, etc.

The ground in your factory harness might be bad.. it happened in my 99.. just cut the ground wire and make your own ground!!
