Question about Line Output Converter
Question about Line Output Converter
Ok I have installed quite a few stereo systems including speakers, head units, and subs & amps....however I have never hooked an aftermarket amp & subs up to a factory amp. This is my basic interpretation of how to use a line output convert : tap into both left and right rear speakers, plug RCAs into L.O.C. and then the amp, wire amp like normal (e.g. power wire and ground). Two questions I need answered : Would it be better for the amp turn-on (remote) to be directly into the ignition wire in the rear of the stereo or just another accessory in the car? Also when should I tap into the rear speakers? Right before the wires go into the speakers after the amp or after they come out of the head unit before the amp? The L.O.C that I bought has adjustable gain and stuff on it so I dont want it hidden. Also, the factory stereo system is just the basic 6 speaker system with tweeters....no Bose

the amp wire I would tap into the 12v line that goes in to the headunit, so the amp isn't on all the time but only when the stereo is on(when the car is on)
If you don't have Bose it means your speaker wires are high level starting at the HU all the way to the speaker. It doesn't matter where you tap. The only factor that would make your life easier is where your amp is, and how long your RCA cable is.
I was wondering where I should tap the L.O.C speaker wires into the speaker wires in my stereo system (before the factory amp or after the factory amp?). For my remote turn-on lead from my aftermarket amp I tapped into the green/white wire from the back of my head-unit which is the factory amp turn on (made sense to me if my factory stereo is on then my factory amp is on and will turn my aftermarket amp on). I just tapped into my factory speaker wires about a foot away from my factory speakers in the in the back. According to the wire diagram of my factory speakers the solid colored wires are positive and the striped are negative so I spliced accordingly. I think maybe I just have a bad ground because its still not working.
Need help!!
Ok so I have a 04 maxima with Bose. I got a new pioneer by and Rockford to share 6 3/4. For the doors and Rockford to share 6x9 for the ones in the tray package. I put in a line output converter but still sounds like carp. So how would I go about bypassing the factory amp. And do I need an aftermarket amp to do so or could the hu run all my speakers. If anyone could help me with this would be great.
