sub in the spair tire well?

Any one ever put a 12" in there. How did it sound, and how hard was the install. Any pics links or tips would be cool.

Me...(hompage)But then again i doubt you wanna build it like that. But yeah it can be dun pretty simple. And like dude said only thing you gotta look at is the depth of the woofer. If it's huge like a w7 then the floor might become raised a little. If it's thin like the illusion subs that are an inch thick than it will fit easy.

Biggest problem with this setup is that you loose your spare tire. I have never personally needed mine, but have been with several friends and family who have needed their spare. If you have a spare you can change it yourself in under fifteen minutes. If you don't you can count on a 45 minute - from the time they are contacted - minimum wait for a tow driver, and $40-100 for the hookup and $2-$5 per mile in the DC region. If you only need it once in your life, you'll be thankful.

Besides that there is no output increase over any other enclosure type, and less output than a rear firing enclosure.

But if you have 18" or 19" wheels(me) than having the spare is useless unless you get another 18 or 19 to run as the spare and as expensive as wheels are I'll pass for now and stick with AAA.

The average wait time for three A's in the Metro area, 3 hours, is at least double the wait time of someone with a credit card. If you ever do have a flat or other roadside failure pay with a credit card and get reimbursed. The space saver is the same size regardlass of your aftermarket wheel size. The overall diameter and circumference should be nearly the same as a stock wheel/tire.

Right now I have the 12" sub fireing threw the ski passthrew. I know the loudest bass comes from a rear facing set up. would I still get an increase in bas outputt with a sub firing up. Thanks

Probley, but not anything your gonna hear, meaning it'd be like 1 or 2 db I doubt you'd gain 3db but might. 3db is pretty much the only amount of change the humen ear can detect and it happens to be 2 times louder.

So I wrote that In a bad way hope it made sence to you.

I'm saying that most of the time firing it to the rear will make it the loudest. Firing it up (like mine) my make it louder but may not be detectable by the human ear.

fsumax - im actually in the process of having a 15" JLW6 installed in the spare tire well. it should be ready this tuesday night, so i'll take pictures wednesday and post it. as far as depth, the floor had to be raised for the woofer to fit. the box is made out of fiberglass, so it should hit pretty damn hard. the installer is also doing some other customization for the amps too. i'll post pics later this week.

I think theres prob 3-5 people that are part of the team that are from Canada.
