Keep my 9500ix or get a Valentine 1???

Well, I have had the 9500ix for about 6 months now...never had any issues with it. However, every time I try to do some research it seems like the Valentine 1 just barely pulls ahead of its competition. Any opinions...thoughts...ideas?

the 9500 is nice, but when it came down to it, I chose the V1. I was just thinking about this today, sure the arrows are cool, but I think the bogey counter is where it stands out. Say you go by a gas station everyday and it makes your detector go off and you pretty much ignore it everytime you pass it. One day there's a cop shooting radar there. The 9500 and every other detector will just beep and more than likely, you'd ignore it. The V1 however, will show you a bogey count of 2, 1 for the normal alert you ignore and 1 for the cop shooting radar. The bogey counter accompanied with the arrows make me nervous using any other detector.

I never really thought about that "bogey" feature...or what I remember seeing in their ads ~ Situational Awareness. My buddy has the Valentine 1, and I would always give him crap because it seemed like it was way to sensitive.

Never owned a V1, but I have heard a lot about it from my own personal research. I was hoping to buy that someday, but cannot pay price for new. Even for the 9500i or yours, the 9500ix. So, I settled for a used 9500i that I got for a great deal.

V1 vs 9500ix? Very close. I just got the 9500i, not the 9500ix, but I will say it is pretty impressive. I like the gps feature and the display of your speed.

They are quite close. I mean, for what they are used for, they do a pretty great job. Keep what you got. Getting the V1 doesn't protect you any better than with your 9500ix.

But hey, you got your own checking account, charge it if you want to. I do stuff like that sometimes. The final decision is yours. Personally, I would keep it till I get tired of it and get maybe a new version that is sure to come out soon.
