Did I do a good job?

(Just kidding, I didn't do this, just came across it - came from a site called www.thereifixedit.com)

Happy Friday!

It'd be interesting if you could actually get that to work! Pretty funny though!

Well, it looks like the user has an audio cable coming out of the front headphone jack. Splicing power is easy. But you would need a CarPC to control the IDE cable so that you can tell the deck which track to play.

If I couldn't read I'd say that must be a dealer installed option in an American car

Funny thing is that he could have used the plug connected to the CDROM and plug it directly to his mp3 player instead of having to go through all that trouble...

It will work, without the IDE cable, since it has a play and stop button on it, alot of the older roms are like that

A lot of older CD-rom drives had a direct audio output on the back, and play/pause or even fastforward/rewind buttons on the front, to be able to play CDs. So it would definitely be feasible.

I used to have a 200w inverter in the car before my Maxima. At one point, the stereo in it broke, so I drove around for two weeks with a Sony radio (one of those large wooden ones from like the 80s) plugged into the inverter on my passenger seat. Pretty good tunes.

Wonderful use of the duct tape. I knew those radios were good for something.
