CD Changer - Other Audio Questions
My cd changer does not shuffle through cd's at the moment. I cannotlisten to cd's because it is as if something is not catching, allowing for me to insert, take out, or even play a cd. Point blank it just isn't working.
This weekend I took out the whole dash assembly to see if i could diagnose the issue. It seems to be coming from the back right of the cd changer where the motor is, or whatever it is, it at least looks like a motor. I am not an electronics guy so I have no idea how to fix this.
I am wondering if it would be cheaper to go get fixed, or just get a new OEM off of ebay. My alternative idea is to just get done what I've been wanting to get done and that is put in one of those audio systems that includes a touch screen navi and all that good stuff.
My brother is one of those electronics guys who can put a stereo in and wants to be able to do all his car stuff on his own, so I feel we would do the installation for whatever it is that I decide to do.
Becuase of the way the dash assembly is, I am not sure how much customization that i would need to do. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on this, but I want it to be done right and look good, all while working properly.
Anyone got any ideas, pictures, or anything else that will help me make my decision? I am looking more for advice. I love my car and I am at the point where I've already decided that I want to keep my car instead purchase a new one so I want to update it as much as I can. It's already over $100K so like I said, I don't want to put too much money in, just a nice head unit with touch screen navi.
