But I was just stating my experience with a Kenwood amp, the number of channels should not matter quality wise.

how about checking ebay for a used amp in good condition?
I'm always of the opinion it's better to buy a good, a older used amp in good condition than to buy a new POS amp that always sounds like shi*!
i.e. the PPI Are Series amps I'm using in competitions are 6 years old, but I STILL have factory reps from PPI and Focal asking if/when I'm getting rid of my amps.
I had one guy last week offer me "new retail price" (just over $3k) for my amps, whether they worked or not!
But my point is, there's a bunch of GOOD used stuff out there for mot a lot of money.
try to find a PPI A404.2 amp. it's 50x4 and is great... if you decide to upgrade your system later, you can bridge the outputs to 200x2. I've run mine like that for two years now and haven't had a bit of problems.

Well, you didnt say how many watts you're looing for so heres my little bang for the buck amp. The Soundstream P205 at www.soundcity.com . 35 watts rms x4 PLUS 70x1 lowpass for a sub. Its not much, but its only around $120 and sounds very clean. I have used a couple in some installs for people and they love them. They are fairly small, and they are a polished crome finish.
