What are these tiny vents for?
I'm in the process of upgrading my interior gauge lights to leds. While taking apart the gauge cluster, I had to remove the plastic piece in front of the gauges.
Anyways, on the right side of the steering wheel there are these tiny vents and there's tubing attach to the vents on the back. My question is what are these vents for? I'm guessing it has to do with climate control b/c it seems temperature sensors are on the insides of the vents.
If I leave the tubing disconnected (its a PIA to get on and off) is that such a big deal?
What's this?

Okay to leave tubing disconnected (its a PIA to reinsert)?

It is an air intake for the inside temperature sensor, used by the auto climate system to control the amount of heat or AC required for the interior. It is not the ambiant temp sensor .
Ambiant refers to the outside temperature.
