dont think its that easy. otherwise there wouldnt be so many write-ups and how-tos on the project. anyone can swap a bulb, but theres more to it than that.

No its exactly that easy, I have done it to my 4th gen, which i even replaced with a 97 cluster as a matter of fact.
its a standard T10 wedge bulb, replaced with T10 wedged leds with built in 12v resistors in its base.

does each individual bulb light the gauge face AND needle?? if so thats prob why theres diff ways of wiring it. ill totally do this if i can keep my needles red. i didnt realize it was this easy. ive heard stories about the bulbs being different, and the led replacements all being junk.

yes but if your going to waste time wiring just for your needles thats not very smart.

This is a REALLY EASY MOD
remove cluster

turn and pull the bulbs out
