New Alpine flip-out monitor ? (video bypass)
New Alpine flip-out monitor ? (video bypass)
I just got my Alpine IVA-D106 in. I need to hook up the video bypass (PAC TR-7) How the H*** do I do that? And don't say have a professional do it bc I believe if they can do it why can't I do it lol
There is a way you can do this cheaply is wire two switches up, but this will become a pain in the *** over time.
You will need two switches.
This is how you will wire them
Switch one
Run an extension wire off of the acc+ on the alpine radio harness (Red, please fuse this wire with a 2.5amp fuse) to the switch. Connect the other side of the switch to the yellow/black wire (foot break) off the back of the Alpine unit.
Switch two
Run an extension wire off the ground wire on the Alpine radio harness (black) and connect it to the switch. Connect the other side of the switch with the yellow/blue wire (parking break).
You will have to switch them in the following order. Switch one on......Switch two on.......Switch two off........Switch two on...........Switch one off.
You will have to do this every time the unit looses power (ie after you turn the car off)
Or you can just buy one of these.

It must have been a brain fart. Note to self....ALWAYS check manufactures website first for instructions before adding ridiculously stupid post on maxima.org and making myself look like a d-bag. Thanks for the replies.
