Normally two twelves have a slightly larger total surface area than a single fifteen. So that's the route I would go. But there are other considerations such as the required box volume for two twelves as opposed to the volume needed for a single fifteen. And how you plan to amplify the subs.

Originally posted by puremax I am using an Autotek Stealth series amp. the wattage is 1200x. |
Originally posted by jmax Is this a stereo or mono amp? And what is the lowest recommended impedance? The L7's have either dual 2 ohm coils or dual 4 ohm coils. If you are getting two speakers then that will be 4 total coils to hook up to the amp. |
Originally posted by puremax What do you mean by stereo or mono amp? does that mean 1 channel or 2 channel? can't compute. |
Originally posted by jmax Stereo would be two seperate channels, most often bridgeable. Mono is monaural. One channel. |
When the amp is bridged, to what load is it stable? Match the speaker impedance to the amp. If you are getting two or more speakers, and I think these speakers are dual voice coil, make sure you calculate the impedance that the amp will "see".

The Stealth concept was created after careful observation and listening to the most beautiful and musical amplifiers at the World Finals. The need for an amplifier which could be flush mounted without elaborate baffles and cover panels was obvious. Stealth fills this need, and is designed to reduce custom installation time by 80%. In addition, we designed Stealth to perform flawlessly into 1-ohm loads, with the musical ability of amplifiers three times it's cost. Stealth Series high performance amplifiers feature our patent pending flush-mount heat sink and chassis for invisible wiring, 1 ohm stability, variable low and high pass crossovers, variable 0-18dB bass boost, line outputs, on/off subsonic filter, all mosfet design and full protection. check out the w\s. http://nexxon.com/autotek/autotek_stealth_amps.htm |

geeeeeez......im hoping your gonna be going for some SPL.....cuz damn the last time i heard a set of 15" woofers...it was a lil while back..listening to Ice Cube's hit..."its a good day"...( its a good day..didn't even hafta use my AK)...rolling in a ghetto 5.0 mustang..with some budget beat 15" woofers wiht some puny 50 oz magnets..and a flea market amp.. Im sure the kickers are awesome...but 15" is alot of cone to move for a speaker..i hope your not gonna try to play music with over 110 beats per minit...cuz i know damn well that 15" just can't keep up with fast beats..id go for the 12"s for a good balance of SPL and sound q

I would go for 2 subs with dual 4 ohm coils. 4/4 = 1 ohm. That will give the most output. Otherwise 2 single voice coil subs, 2 ohms each. 2/2 = 1ohm.
