dome light issue with hyperwhite bulb

i recently got some hyperwhite bulbs to replace my map and dome lights. the map lights went in fine, as did the dome light. however, i notice that the dome light emits a slight glow even when it's in the 'door' position and all the doors are closed. i have temporarily turned it to the completely 'off' position, as i'm concerned it's going to drain my battery - albeit slowly - if it's on all the time. anyone have any info on this? and yes, i did search, and i googled... thanks in advance

i have an 03 gle fwiw

bump; i got some responses to this when i posted it in the 5th gen forum, but i wanted to try to get some more input from your electrical experts....

am i safe to leave my dome light in the 'door' position, even though it's on all the time? it's not gonna drain my battery? even when i'm at work for 15 hours and essentially, my dome light is on the whole time?

a few lowly lit led's won't kill your battery any time quickly. But the reason is because theres a small voltage back feeding into the leds, I can't remember why but thats the reason. Happened to a buddy of mine's dakota a few years ago. I think he may have eliminated the problem by putting some diodes in line somewhere, might work for you.
