Pioneer AVIC unit and XM radio

Anyone here have an AVIC series radio with the optional XM tuner? Is it worth getting? I want to get it, but am worried that it will be like the FM tuner: that is, a piece of junk that was clearly added as an afterthought. What is your experience with it?

I would search the internet for reviews. You're likely to get more responses there.

I have heard nothing but bad things about it. I wouldn't think it would be a wise investment, seems like it's very hit or miss.

if its a direct plug n play, I can't see why it will be a problem or anything like FM. I do and always will hate the sound of streaming music however, especially xm/sirius. It just sounds watery and defeats the purpose of spending time and money on a half decent sound system
