Thats my point. If you want bass get a sub. 6x9's are not good replacments to get real sub bass. Get a sub. Give some money budgets and i'll post some suggestions.

You don't have to eat up alot of trunk space..box's can be made in alot of fashons. I suggest looking for a good free air 8 to put in the deck. ONly problem is with 150 bucks you don't have enough to really get a sub and amp. I say save up then get somthing good.

Subs or speakers? If speakers where do you want to put them. If subs what do you want out of them( loud, sq, loud sq)?

Not air 8. Free air. I suggest finding a 8" sub that you can mount in the deck and run free air style. Using no acual box. Like the bose system comes with.

On the cheap side I'd look at RF he series. I have 2 twelves in the trunk and they're plenty. Go more expensive and move up to so JL audio w3's. For amps I would check out some of the older MTX amps. Good build quality and output is nice. Very clean amps as well. You can get an older 100 x 2 for around 200 bucks or even less. 200 for the amp and a bout 300 for the subs.

Dude, I travel a lot too that's why I have a 12" sub in a small box. The bass is stupendous. When I need the space, I take the box out. I usually won't isten to it when I take the box out because it sounds cheap.

I have an 8" sub in a bandpass enclosure, very light and tiny, laying around my closet, I can sell way under $150. Hook this baby up to a 250-w amp and you got yourself a nice bass. For $150 you'll be able to get my sub AND have enough money to buy an amplifier.
