How should I wire my speakers?

I was just wondering what would be the best way to wire my speakers to my amp.

The speakers are 2 kicker 12" cvr's.

The amp is a kenwood kac-x1r
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-GkJjMcs...n-KAC-X1R.html

They are currently wired kinda weird. Speaker wire goes from the amp directly to one sub, then that same sub has speaker wire going to the other speaker. They work and sound good but I think they could sound better and I dont want to damage my amp or speakers.

I also have a Kicker zx1000.1 amp. Think it would be worth switching that amp in?

Are you going from (+) from the 1st Sub to (+) on the 2nd Sub.
And (-) from the 1st Sub to (-) on the 2nd Sub???
If you are then you are Getting the 2 Ohm Load that your amp WANTS!!!

If you are Not,
Then you can wire the Subs this way,
And Should Not do Any Harm to your Amp....

Hope that This Helps!!!!

look up wiring diagrams on crutchfield. there will be one showing configurations for series and parallel, and the benefits of each config

If your speakers are 2 ohms and in parallel set up, the amp sees 1ohm, but if it's 4 ohms in parallel then it is running at 2 ohms.
