Subs in 5th gen

I have a 2K max without the Bose and am considering adding 2 10's. My question is would it be a good idea to cut a hole where the Bose sub would have been and buy the Bose "grate" and put it over it? This, I think, would air to move between to trunk and cabin making it sound cleaner and possibly eliminating folding the back seat? Has anyone done this or think it is a good idea? Thanks, Dave.

Dont do it that way. Build a fiberglass enclosure on the left rear corner of your trunk if you want to save space and only have 1 sub. Or you can build a small downfire enclosure for 1 10 or 12" sub right behind the seat with minimal space...

Hey "R"V"D",,,,hehe....I built a fiberglass box in the passenger side of the trunk over the wheel well. I have a 10" sub in it. I too was thinking of doing the same thing, cutting a "port" if you will in the back dash to allow air flow through to the cabin. How is it working for you, and if you did, where did you get the grill from to cover the hole? Did it quiet any of those little rattles that were around? Thanks,,,,D-MAN

Thanks for all the comments. I am only planning on using the "Bose hole" as a "port". Does anyone know where I would be able to obtain one of those Bose "grates"?
