Amp Mounting Need Some Ideas

So where does everyone have their amp mounted. I was thinking of mounting it under the rear deck. Any other places that would be better? I dont want to mount it to the box because if my stuff is ever stolen, then I dont want the theif to be able to make out with the amp and sub easily(because they would be together)

I agree with SweetSound & carnal…

Under the seat is a good spot for the amps. I never had any problems when I had mine installed in my old Accord, and I'm planning on doing the same with my Max. The only problem then will be where to move my CD changer…

I'm no expert, but…

I had the same problem with an amp that I had mounted in the same place. It was a 6-Channel amp that was basically running everything I had. It could be the heat or the lack of circulation in the trunk, unless you have fans to cool them. Like I said, I'm no expert, but I recall having a similar problem.

get urself a cooling fan...

and i mount my amp under my seat also...there is a vent down there...so if u got ur a/c on it'll help cool ur amp...but then if u got ur heat on then.....the other prob is u have to make sure the amps clear the seat....

For those of you with the amps mounted under your seats, what method do you use to attach the amp to the floor under the seat? Also, it looks like there is some kind of box covering the amps in the pics . . . where would I get those . . . I'm thinking upgrading my Bose and mounting the amps under my seats in my 2K2 . . . Thanks!

My amp cuts out then turns back on all the time. I was told that it had to do with the way it was wired/bridged. I gotta take it back to the shop that installed it and see if they can fix it. I originally thought it was because it was overheating since it was mounted under my seat.
