Android compatible HU's???

I just picked up a Samsung Galaxy S2 (Skyrocket) to replace my iphone and i LOVE it!

However, whenever i try to plug it into the USB line on my Alpine HU it does not want to recognize it. I have tried turning on USB debug on the phone but still no luck.

I would like to see if anyone knows of any HU's (preferable double din touch screen with GPS) that are compatible with android based phones. My MAIN request is basically just something that will play and allow Pandora to play through my stereo. Being able to control pandora through the HU would be choice but im just trying to find something that will WORK at this point!

Thanks in advance!

If and only IF you are able to download the Aha app through an android phone (because I kow some apps are interchangeable through android and apple) you can go out and get a new pioneer deck. most newer pioneer decks are rigged for the aha app and can pretty much controll your phone through the deck, which is pretty cool.

Aha radio is only for IOS......

I wish they would make a solid setup for android in the aftermarket electronics arena, for some reason its all iphone.

Your best bet OP is to take your phone with a USB cord to a retailer and plug it in to their demo units, mount as drive on the droid, and poke around to see if the deck see's mp3s. Streaming stuff is probably a no go but I have seen it work in single din Pioneers before (reading mp3s), so any nav screen would be able to do it I'd assume

I connect my HTC Evo 4G to my aging Kenwood Dnx9140 via blue tooth and can stream audio. It streams what ever audio is coming out of the phones speaker over to the head unit. Catch is that control is from the phone. Or i can connect the phone to the USB on the radio and it acts just like a thumb drive and charges the phone. But i would rather use a thumb drive because it holds more music and video and the phone charges so much faster on the dual 1amp usb cigarette plug in the center console.

bluetooth does work, but not all do bluetooth audio streaming, so if you're going that route make certain it does b a streaming and not just bluetooth (phone calls)..

I stream Pandora and play mp3s from my Kenwood nav as well and can control pause, play, back or next track as well. no cover art or information though (like iphone)

There should be a few options when you connect your phone via usb. I had the Galaxy S and had no problems at all. When I switched to a Droid Bionic I had to play with it some, but works great!

If you have an AUX A/V Input behind the HU go to Radio Shack pick up an A/V to Headphone Jack cable. Install it, and voila you can now play your phone through your HU. Simple and easy to install. Saves time and headaches on wanting to play your music from your phone.

100% agree saves time and money bit the kenwood utilizes the usb cord for the phone and charges it while you listen to music/pandora whatever you like
