where to buy in NYC and westchester

depending on how far you are willing to drive (it'll be an enjoyable experience), there's a pretty decent place in springvalley, NY, right on the NY-NJ border. it's called "sound FX", not to be confused with "sound effects". they have better equipment than what you might find in major retailers.
There are two shops in Lansdale and Montgomeryville. World Wide Stereo and Video is in Montgomeryville off of 309, near five points plaza and down the street from the Montgomeryville Mall. They carry all high end equipment (MB Quart, JL, Xtant, Rockford, etc). Their prices are decent, but they usually have great sales on equipment all the time, as long as you don't mind last years items.
The other place is Good Vibrations off of Broad Street in Lansdale. It's a smaller shop, he doesn't carry a huge inventory, but he can order anything you want, he has great prices and he's great with helping and replacing bad items. I bought speakers there and I blew them after two months, he came out to my car and tested them and then ordered me a new pair for free. (I had to wait four days, but he didn't charge me a penny)

one more thing i forgot to mention. I'm pretty sure I'm goin with 2 12" JL's powered by RF amp. How much is the wiring kit? Thinkin of phoenix gold but open to suggestions. My decision isn't final yet, it depends on price, quality, availability i guess. Thanks. PEACEE

If you want JL Audio Stuff... Go to Bedford Sound Concepts. I would not recommend them to install the stuff, but their pricing is pretty damn good. They sell GOOD **** there man. They are maybe 10 minutes from you if you are in Chappaqua. You wanna talk to Billy, either one. Tell them Delio sent you, with the Black Maxima... And Doug with the White Maxima and Diamond speakers. They will know. Their number is 914-244-0900

Quick note - are you thinking about having an audio store install the sub& for you? if you are, and you trust the store, i suggets you let them chose a "wiring kit" for you. a lot of times, the audio installer has a set installation prices which include the necesary wires, fuses, etc. If you feel like getting the phoenix gold, MORE POWER TO YOU!
good luck

Not sure about shops in your area but i just wanted to tell you to stay away from the shops in brooklyn.
I have been to all of them and most the guys there are all jerks.
My cousin wanted to get a video system (in dash alpine screen)in his Q45 and they all gave him such an attitude.
We wanted to know if we hook up a playstation and they would not even answer us...all they said was that you can control it from the screen........
yes i might seem picky but when you are going to spend 2grand you want a place that you can trust and that you like.
He never got the alpine, but all the stuff he has gotten since then for his car, me and him have installed, since we can't find a good shop in the brooklyn area.
Remember..i don't mean to generalize all brooklyn audio places are bad...I am just saying that, i have not once had a pleasant experience in any of the ones i have gone to. (about 12 of them)

good luck.
