Touch screen head unit, Help!

Hi, I'm new to the maxima forums, and I don't really know how to navigate the site yet, so I'm unaware of a thread on this. I want to replace my head unit in my 2001 maxima, but I don't want something with all those horrible flashy colored lights. Touch screen would be the best option I'm thinking. Does anyone know of a good touch screen model, or better yet, has anyone put a touch screen in their maxima?

Where are you located, and what model pioneer? I want to run subs if that makes a difference. And I want it to fit nice into the dash.

I was looking into getting this one Pioneer AVH-P2300DVD. Will my car still make turn signal noises and such? And I don't want an ugly gap between radio and dash. Is there anyway to get rid of that? Like a piece of plastic the same color as my dash? And is this headunit any good?

I don't mean to be harsh but you really need to go to a local car audio store and talk to them about what you want. I'm not talking about Best Buy but rather a local high end audio shop. They can help you out with everything you need. The basics of what your need are

Double Din Plastic Radio Harness
2001 Nissan Maxima aftermarket radio wiring harness
2001 Nissan Maxima antennea harness (if you ever want to listen to the radio)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/METRA-95-741...0e2b3d&vxp=mtr

It also depends a great deal on whether you have the Bose system or not. The good thing is that no other functions are controlled by the radio except for the trip funtion on the steering wheel control. So yes you will still retain all your turn signals and chimes but you. You need to ground the brown/white wire from the small harness behind the stereo to maintain the trip functionallity. You will also have to buy an adapter to make the steering wheel controls work.

You weren't harsh, and thanks. I'll head out to one this weekend and see what I find out. Hopefully everything works out.

That's a good radio. Any pioneers are good. There's. metra kit that our shop orders from that has matching kits, matching colors, carbon fiber , wood grain, ect. They al "SHOULD" fit perfect we've had the occasional few that haven't but most always fit...

Alright that's great. My main thing is how it fits.

As far as fit goes, here's my install with a Pioneer Avic-Z140BH using the Scosche Double DIN kit.
