How do I wire up two headunits?

Hi, im looking to keep my factory bose navi (04 i35) and run a headunit into the glove box for some features like usb, ipod, and mp3 cds. Is this even possible, I have the headunit laying around and wanna use it if i could. I'm figuring I just run the power, ground and remote wire and tap into the speaker wires. But Im not sure.

You need an aux interface to feed the signal into your Bose HU.

But if you're doing that, just connect your ipod directly to the Aux interface. No separate HU needed.

Well as you know, the factory headunit doesn't have any aux inputs and I'm not looking to spend 150 on that aux interface. (the cheapest I seen it was on eBay for about 95 used). I also seen that post about making aux inputs by opening the radio, but I'm not looking to do that either. I've done some research on this on other websites, but couldn't get a definite way of installing this. I was thinking of using a spdt switch connected to the ignition wire so I could turn on one unit while keeping the other off. Will this work, and just tap intto the speaker wires for the other headunit.

It's certainly not the conventional way of doing things (aka, ghetto) but in theory it will work.

Best of luck.
