paint dash kit to match
Yeah, in the past it was hit or miss. The first time I tried it the paint wouldn't set right and it looked like crap after drying. I guess I could have tried using a primer and different brand paint, but I just figured it wasn't worth the hassle after that...
It was too damn hot to invest much time in anything other than a simple install this weekend. I ended up going with a Kenwood KDC-X997.
Pros:
1) It sounds great playing from a flash drive.
2) The HD stations that I was able to pick up were very clear(in my driveway).
3) USB front and back
4) Digital time alignment
Cons:
1) I can not read the display during the day. I read other reviews stating the same thing but I blew them off as "no big deal" or "couldn't be that bad", but it is a big deal.
2) I knew I was going to lose radio controls on the steering wheel, but I also lost the temp/DTE, etc.
3) The reception is very weak in comparision to the Bose. I couldn't get any AM stations.
I think it's going back to Crutchfield.
