some questions

I have found an RCA patch cable in my trunk under the carpet that looks to be just as old as the car itself. anty one know anything about it? did nissan put those back there? I have one more. How do you replace the rear speakers? i am not sure about it and do not want to tear anything up.

Yeah, there's no factory RCA patch cable. Not knowing the *YEAR* of your Maxima:
3rd gen: rear speakers unsrew from underneath, in the trunk.
4th gen: remove rear seat, lift up parcel shelf , speakers unscrew from the top.
5th gen: dunno.

www.maximadriver.com Go to the How2 section, and thre is a writeup on installing a basic stereo system. There are detailed instructions in it for replacing the rear speakers.
