*stereo upgrade need help*

Hi everyone, new to this forum.
I have an 05' Maxima and am looking for some advice to upgrade stereo system. I can't find any mounting kits for aftermarket stereos at all. Car audio guy said Nissan screwed up a few models and made it impossible to do anything because the aircon, radio, CD player and accessories are all linked together on the same panel and I would have to order a specific "facia" from Japan for a whopping $900!! 😳
Has anyone come across this?
Please help.
The stock unit only plays regular cds, not even MP3 😩. And no aux input either. 😒

No kit required for 4th gen, stereo mounts to OE brackets and just fits. If going from bouble to single din you will need a cubby to for all the new void. Mine had single so the cubby was already there.

I don't know about your gen though.

Then why even bother stating this? The OP clearly mentioned he has an '05.

Because Japanese imports don't tend to use installation kits, and I was using my Japanese import as an example.

If you don't have some useful input why post this?
