I just got a 96 Maxima GXE. It's got a FM modulated
player in it, and it's called an SBS. Is this a factory
player or not? It doesn't appear to be working. Anyone
have any tips?

 

Doubtful it is a factory FM modulated. Haven't heard anyone here having one before. I wound up buying a sherwood that works with the factory HU.

 

1)try reseting the unit(look on the control box for a small pin sized hole and hit that lil button in there)

2)check and make sure the thing even gets power at the changer itself(make sure you can eject the cartidge)

3)Or you can just buy another one for about $150 at BestBuy INSTALLED!!

btw: i work for BestBuy Mobile installs id reccomend Sony or JVC, stay away from KOSS, they break alot!

Thanks ny96, I appreciate the advice. I shoulda mentioned that I had tried both of those things. The changer is getting power, but the remote doesn't seem to be making a connection.

I wonder if the changer is broke Oh well, I'll go see one of your colleagues at Best Buy.
