2 questions about installation

1) Is it easy to hook up an amp to the interior speaker? I'm not quite sure how this works

2) I got a HU, speakers, subs and amp to install, i wanna do it myself and not mess anything up, how long would it take?

Any thoughts
thanks

1) Run speaker cables from your amp to your door speakers. That is kind of straightforward if you do not tap the stock speaker wiring. Make surw that + and - match.

2) you will need a box for the speaker too. Takes a few hours for expirenced person and maybe a couple of days for newbie.

good luck

i'll try to help you out as best as i can

1)...to add in inside speakers to ans external amp is pretty simply. All you have to do is run speaker wire from the terminals on the amp to the speaker. The factory speaker wire is no longer used in powered by an amp .The fun part is gonna be hiding the wires.

2)...installing a HU, 4 speakers, subs and amp should take about 2-3 hours if you know what you are doing. On the HU, if this is the first aftermarket HU in you max, then you would have to get a wiring harness and re-wire the wire to fit the harness(30 mins). The speakers in the doors and rear deak are pretty easy. Pop off doors and rear deck, unscrew old, screw in new, replace covers.(1 hour)Subs screw into box and run speaker wire from subs to connector in box. Place in trunk. (20 mins) Finally wiring the amp...run all wires and hook the up. Also finding oplaces to hid wires and mount amp.(45mins)

hope this helps

www.maximadriver.com Go to the How2 section and there are two articles. One on installing speakers and HU, and a second on installing an amp.

ok....i have a 93, but i think it will be close to the 96 models
1) you will run new speaker wire from the amp to the speaker in the doors and rear deck. If you look at the factory speakers, the wires youed on those is not needed anymore, just leave them there.

2) you will have to take off the door panels on the front doors to get to the front speakers. The panels should pop off around the outside and you'll have to take off the window/lock buttons and handle bar to get the panels off. As for the deck lid...mine has 3 pin things on the back seat that holds the seat into the rear deck. On mine you have to pull up on the back seat to get the pins off and the deck lid should come off. You'll have to pop off some clips....just pull kinda hard, but they will break pretty easily. I don't believe you can that it off or access the speakers trough the trunk.

3)For the subs....you'll have speaker wire from the subs to the connector on the outside of the box. And then speaker wire from the connector on the box to the amp.

That is about as detailed as i can get....Blake
