is it possible to run 2 image dynamic, 2 ohm dual voice coils with a bridged rockford amp at 4 ohms?

Is it possible

GoNe,

2 possible (working) configurations;

1. running your dual 2 ohm voice coils in series would yeild a 4 ohm load that you could run across a BRIDGED output of your amp

2. running each 2 ohm voice coil to seperate channels (in phase) to
an UNBRIDGED amp would yeild better results

Caution You do not want to run the dual 2 ohm in parallel across a bridged amp output that would put you around a .5 ohm load

Good luck

My Bad

As I see you're trying to bridge across 2 Drivers rather than one, you still come up with 2 ohm load across a bridged amp which is a no go ....sorry for the first reply re-read it after submitting reply

Yeah, the two ohm bridged load that is the equivalent of a stereo one ohm load - from the amps perspective.

Actually you were right. The one ohm bridged load is the equivalent of a stereo one-half ohm load - from the amps perspective. I don't see any problem with number 1 or number 2. They should have the same net result.

Re: Re: My Bad

so then it is not going to be possible to hook it up to a fosgate amp that has 360 watts @ 4 ohms

It is possible to hook it up. But the speakers and coils need to be hooked up in series. 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 8 ohms. The power will be the same as the stereo 4 ohm power.
