I was thinking about just putting the piece that the GXE has under the stock cassette player in there. What do you guys think? Where can I get it?
Thanks,

Buy yourself the adapter kit they sell for single din headunits at any audiostore. They are about 15 bucks and they looks tight! Your deck will flush mount and you get some storage space for things like small papers. I think they maker of my adapter kit was Metra and I am very pleased with it. I got it at AudioKing (the name in Minnesota for Ultimate Electronics). I have a picture but it is crap. Maybe I'll load it to my website and link it so you can see it.

I've actually only got the 12-W1 subs. They don't make em anymore. Haven't for a few yrs. I bought em when I was 16 and got my first car. They still put out like you wouldn't believe. No need to fix what isn't broke. The Alpine deck I have is the 7977. It is a non-powered model, meaning your must have amps for all of your speakers. I got it because the voltage is 5 volts all around instead of 2 volts for the fronts and rears and 5 for the subs. Also, nonpowered decks tend to sound slightly cleaner. I'm sure you'll enjoy the system. Enjoy.

Man, my wood grain is tight, yo! Actually, I bought it used and wasn't going to buy the car because I thought it was nasty. Well, it took all but 2 days to grow on me and I love it now. When I see a tan interior with a black area in the center near the radio it bothers me now. Too many colors in the car. My wood makes my car blend. What can I say?

I think Pioneer is about gimicks, not sound. Just my opinion, but whales, helicopters and other fancy displays are not for me. This deck does look like it has potential from the website, however. 4 volt pre-outs are good. Having 3 preouts is good. The display is much improved from past models, which is also good. If you like it, go for it. Previous Pioneer decks I would just laugh at. This one looks like Pioneer is on the turnaround, they way the were about 5 years ago -- near the top of the pack in performance and looks.
