Questions on separate subwoofer control?

The little mechanism you can turn a little dial and control the sub woofer volume, separate from the speakers

1. How much do they cost>

2. Are they hard to install, and how to install them.

3. Where to install it.

I have a 98 Se. I just want an easier method from having to scroll through my HU to get to the separate subwoofer option.

Thanks

bryan

I assume your talking about an LPL (low pass level controller), either your amps have a place for them or they don't...If they don't your options are limited...you can go with a sound processer that has one such as an eq or x over some have that feature or you can go with a PG Bass cube...Most likely thats what your looking at gettting it's about 200 bones.

The control dial you are speaking of usually comes with mono or high powered amplifiers. Rockford Fosgate has control dials that comes with some of their amps. Also kicker has one that they sell for use with their amplifiers that goes for $40 plus.

They are not hard to install at all, they plug into a control port on the amp and thats that.

Consider the lenght of the wire when installing, depending on where your amps are mounted you can place the **** anywhere, but you want it in reach so you can control it relatively easy.

Yea, i have a v12 Alpine mrv-100m Mono amp for my 10 inch kicker vr sub. So any audio store would be able to hook me up with one? I have to check on the plug in options on that amp.

thanks

I'm Pretty sure that don't have an lpl output, what your looking for looks like a phone jack.

Correction on the Basscube....its use is not for Low pass gain control, it is in fact main purpose is speaker "protection" and proper tuning of your subs... Alot of amps do have the "lpl" (which is PGs name for it,others vary)Unfortunately your Alpine does not. Your best bet would be for a crossover/EQ with that available ie: Phoenix Gold 215ix,Audio Control 6XS (which I have and love),etc...

just my $.02

So with my Alpine, i am Sh.t out of luck for that separate control feature. I was looking at my dash today and noticed a great spot for it. Just to the right of my rolling *** that controls the brightness of my interior lights, there is a blank area, looks like the piece could be removed. I think that would be perfect to put a bass ***. There has to be a way to do a *** like that, that would be capitable with the alpine

Like I said try an EQ, or crossover.

Alpine makes a sub level controller. They cost about $60 from any local Alpine dealer. It just goes inline with your subwoofer rca line. 20min install time, tops!

Do you think that sub level controller can be placed in that space just to the side of the rolling light dimmer? Right near where the ignition key goes.

Well, currently i have an RCA cord going from the NON Fader out from my Eclipse HU to the alpine. Would i have to change that. Would i need to get an RCA splitter?

thanks
bryan

I think you are talking about a simple dial thing, with a cord that has a phone jack plug. I wouldn't think they would be more than like $10-15. Plugs into your amp. Put it wherever you want to. He said he can control it thought his HU but, he doesn't want to so I dont't think he would wanna go buy a equalizer.

This one

"A Phoenix Gold LPL (Low Pass Level) subwoofer control. I like having immediate control of my sub level. I can also control the sub output via the head unit, but that takes navagating through a few modes and menus and takes way too long"

Let me know

thanks

Inline also called "passthrough" means that your RCAs go from your head unit into it,then into your amp. No extra splitter/RCAs etc. As far as I know there is no option for a direct plug in on your amp. Best suggestion would still be the EQ,or Xover.

Haven't heard one of these in years, but they used to be fairly popular. It is the AudioControl Epicenter. Here is the link. Not sure of the cost.AudioControl website You will have to scroll to the bottom.

Epicenter is a bass restorer, similiar in effect to the PG basscube. In Audio Control look for the 6XS.
