Do I need a capicitor with my setup?
Hi guys..
Recently had a systam installed to replace my stock bose. I now have 3 jL 10"s, 1 500/1 jl & 1 300/4 jl amp. 4 kenwood components with 2 tweeters. I see a lot of people have farad caps?? or capicitors?? installed with their setup too. Do I need these on mine??

A cap isn't always necessary. If you haven't bought a new battery, say an Optima, I would start there. Do you have any problems with your lights dimming when the stereo is playing at high volumes? If you do then a battery is a good starting point. Then if the lights are still dimming, I would get a cap. Hope this helps!

I need to replace my battery...
I second the idea of getting the Optima. But a cap is always a good idea, although not neccessary. Think of it like insurance for your car's electronics and your new expensive system. They're cheap too, you can get a digital 1 farad cap w/led display for under $150 online.
