Midlevel HU cutting out

Just today my HU is starting to cut out & skip even over the smallest bumps while a CD is playing, and all my CD's are in good condition, does this mean I need to replace my HU soon?

The laser is probably out of alignment. If it is under warranty I would take it back where you bought it. Otherwise it may be time for a new unit.

Do you listen to the radio? Does it happen then also?

If so, check for a short in the speaker phases (+ touching -). That will cause a shutdown.

the radio is ok, just that the CD player skips over the smallest bumps irritates me, maybe I can wait it out a while longer to see if it gets any worse
