expanding foam question

Hi guys,

Been going through old threads in regards to the expanding foam. Is it worth going through the touble? Does it really do what it says it does? I'm trying to fill in some gaps in my trunk and matting won't cut it. The fact that some people say it might break weld joints makes me really uneasy.
I know not to use the latex one since it doesn't dry, and to go with polyurethane expanding foam. At which secton of Home Depot can I find this? Would polyfill be better since the foam is permanent. Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Mike H.

You can get "minimal expansion" foam. Just do a little at a time. As for where you can get it I have seen it everywhere From Home Depot to K-Mart

using the stuff is just fine.. it's worked wonders on my cars..
as for the popping the welds stuff... you jsut have to go slow and apply it in small amounts- otherwise it will overfill the small areas while expanding and cause bulges on the sheet metal and possibly pop the welds.. usually it's just the glue/adhesive they use to hold the trunk X bracing to the top skin, but you get the point. it shouldn't pop any metal welds.. If it does, the weld was cold to begin with..

just take your time and be careful and you'll have no problem.

Thanks. I'll swing by home depot today and check it out. This stuff is pretty permanent though right? Once it's on, it's on?
