what's the best way to customzie a box so that it don't block the ski whole?

Excuse me, that's the "Hockey Stick Hole"

Two individual boxes would be kind of tacky, visually, but if I ran two subs, that might be the way I'd do it.

Other than that all I could think of is rear trunk placement, which would take up quite a bit of usuable trunk space.

Block the hole. I highly doubt you use it that often, and if you do, then... I don't know. Buy a ski rack or something.

You could just make a wide box with a tunnel in the middle

If done right, it could be made to look quite nice I think....

heh...you'd have to be careful as to not disturb the airspace of the enclosure, but it could be done...then add a custom-made ski rack in the tunnel, loaded with foam on all sides to prevent vibrations but tight enough for the skis to clip in, and voila

Sorry, but are those really twelves? They look like small ten's or big eight's. I personally agree with a custom pair of boxes built to either side of the ski hole.

They are small 12"s, I didn't like the look of the big 12"s.

That's very true. Looking in my trunk I don't even see enough mounting depth for a twelve without loosing the spare. Unless they were placed at an angle at the rear of the trunk. But I use my trunk too often to mount a sub where it would constantly be scraped across.
