Ohms question on bridging
Ohms question on bridging
I am not an electrician so bare with me. I have a 4 channel amp and I want to run one dual voice coil sub off of the 2 rear channels. The amp is 4 ohm so if I connect the 2 rear channels to the sub will it be 2ohms then? Or because it is a dvc sub will it still be 4 ohms? Just curious. Also I was thinking about putting a crossover in between the amp and subs and deck speakers. Does this make sense? Thanks for the help for an audio newbie.
If you are funning the sub off of one channel of the amp then it will be 2 ohms +to+ and-to- but if you are running it off of 2 channels then it will be a 4 ohm load. DVC speakers are usually looked at as two seperate speakers in one. I hope this helps

That's what I was thinking. Now I just have to decide which dvc sub. I'm thinking infinity. Is 65 w rms/ 115 peak per channel too little to power 1 sub? The infinity is rated at 250 rms. 130 enough?
