Is 7" Monitor going to fit?

I'm getting a Kenwood 7" monitor to go in the dash. I'm hoping that it's going to fit in the double din area. Is this going to work for me?

im working on the same thing. if its a 16:9, it might fit, if its a 4:3, i doubt it. either way, you're probably gonna have to do a little bit to the dash anyway.

here's what i was thinking...although with an alpine cda-7998 instead of a pioneer premier dex-p1r.

So is there a write up or anything? How did he mount it in there? Was there any cutting involved? That looks so good!

Yeah yeah yeah you gets props Could you imagine all of our faces when he did all of that work and installed the screen in the car, turned that sucker on and OMG It was upside down. My lil bro still decided to play nba street while it was that way! he didn't care.

Next Hmmmm........ CUT THE DAMN PLEXIGLASS!!!!!!!! for my amp racks and my center console. I also am going to get a psone to mount under the drivers seat or that new little car one that the have and put it in the glove box for dvd enjoyment.

Nothing had to be cut whichwas the best part. the particular screen that i got which was a microvision widescreen, fit perfectly. Shameless Plug: I can get them for you for 250+ shipping.

FM mods will work with any radio. It only uses power/ground and intercepts your antenna.

Tell us more about this screen. Also: what would be the ideal head unit for the screen?

The screen is a Microvision 7" widescreen. Any radio would be fine. One with a built in DVD player would be more convenient.

here is a link to their website. it doesnt give much info though. Actually the screen is surprisingly very clear. I don't get any glare from it either. Which is the best part. The head unit like pearl says really doesn't matter what matters is what your sourcs will be if its a dvd player, something with a dvd controller or player would be great! if you wanna watch tv. than a head unit with a tvtuner controller would be great. Its all up to you the screen will play anythingyou give it

Yes they do come with the remote eye and a wireless credit card size remote wich adjust the clarity and screen size you can watch normal,; widescreen; zoom1;and zoom2. The only connections are power, ground and video just as if you had audio video rca's in your home tv. I have a jack in my car that i bought from radio shack that you plug in to the tv and then you have all of the jacks for any game system on the other end. I will try to hook up a friends playstation or something like that this week and take pics. No i cant sell these for 250 shipped to ny maybe on my next trip i can bring it up to ny but I'm not making much at all on these. I'm just giving a hookup to the fellas on the org at 250.00!

I feel like a nOOb again, but I've got some questions for you about the screen.

1) Is there some kind of dash kit that you can buy that makes it look that clean?

2) I have a woodgrain dash, so (if a kit exists) could I get it in woodgrain?

3) Any other useful tips.

I used to be really big into car audio stuff, but the last few years I have been slacking. I had a '90 SE w/ 3 12" JL W 6s, Eclipse head unit, 1 farad cap, soundstream reference amps...etc. But I haven't been into the scene for a long time. Hoping to jump back in.

No extra pieces are neccasary. Just a nice clean snug fit. I may start doing these for people if they are local, or they want to send in the trim. I am doubtful that many of you would want to send in, but it is offered. If sending the trim, it will in no way affect A/C, clock, vents,etc..It is just one piece that everything else is attached to via other brackets holding them all together.

So you just pull the dash out, pull out the BOSE, and put the monitor where it used to be? That sounds waaaay too easy.

Just out of curiosity...why would you move the A/C controls?? It is not necessary, and a real pain in the A$$ !! I had to do it in a Jeep Grand Cherokee so that they could have a flip out TV.

Windows

If I put a Windows based pc in my car, would the resolution be ok? I'm assuming the fonts would look messed up though.

I think I'd probably have to get a TFT LCD screen with a 15-pin connector for my car pc. Anyone have any idea for a good one?
