Does this unit have better sound quality than the 97-99 unit? If so in what areas Bass, Mids, Treb? It looks VERY clean. Is there alot of modding to do to use this unit?

In my opinion it does. It also has some sort of built in equalizer SSV its called. You have low med high settings.
Nope takes about 10 mins to install. You have to drill some new holes in the brackets about 1/2 inch back and you have to cut and tap 1 wire.

Like i said the key selling point for me was the MP3 6disc capability. The rds is an awesome feature too its really cool that it tells you the song.

ssv is speed sensitive volume control. all it does is when you drive faster the volume increases and decreases with speed. it helps overcome background noise. the low medium and high settings let you adjust the sensitivity. I keep mine off on my 05 pathfinder.

just wondering, how is the connectivity of an IPOD to this unit? is it easy to wire up an Ipod to the pathfinder BOSE headunit?

Not to hijack your thread, but in case yours sells and others want them, does anyone have any recommendations on other places to get one of these? Nissan sell them individually? Bose? I was also thinking I might go to a few local install shops and ask them to keep an eye out for me.

You can probably find more on ebay I would imagine (for those that were asking).
What would need to happen to get this to work in an 02 with Bose?

I got mine on ebay for $200, works great. almost directly plug and play. I don't know if it'll work with the 02 because of the shape of the stock unit.

Has anyone tried an 05-06 Altima HU. I'm thinking about getting one since I broke the CD player in my Pathfinder HU and cant find another.
