***SOLD*** ID8.V3 Dual 4-Ohm Free Air Sub
Link to specs. I had this in the rear deck of my Maxima for about a year (purchase from Woofer ETC last August). Sounded great! But now I've moved on and have no use for it. I'm asking $75 shipped in the Lower 48, or best offer. Also, the mounting plate is now gone.

This sub is infinitely better than the Bose! It's a bit bigger in diameter, so it is slightly deeper in the lower frequencies. I had each voice coil hooked up to my MTX 421D mono amp and it handled the 350 W RMS with ease. I honestly can't remember how the Bose cover didn't fit over the sub quite perfectly. I think I remember slightly trimming the rear deck cover (like, in a spot the length of a quarter maybe). The best solution is to simply widen the hole in the factory mounting plate, but I didn't want to bother cutting metal and had the MDF lying around.

I don't really have anything to compare the sound to, as it's the first 8" sub I've ever owned. Previously I was using 2 12" MTX subs and it would sound almost as good as one, just nowhere as deep. The sub is made to be used in sealed or free-air applications and would let me really turn up the base. This will be dependent on the RMS watts you send it and the quality of your amp, too.

I don't have any notes on the trim plate, but do remember how I cut it out. Note that it has been sold, so it isn't included with the sub anymore. The way I made it was by tracing the metal mounting plate on a piece of 3/4" MDF, then cutting that out. Next, I made a circle large enough for the sub to fit into. You don't have to have a piece of MDF, but the OEM mounting plate does not have a cutout large enough for the sub.
