Question on best transmission for road racing

Everyone here on the org says that the i30 locking tranny is the best, I guess for drag racing. But I was talking to some friends today who said non-locking is the best for road racing. But I don't see the advantage and im questioning that because wouldn't you get more traction around a turn if both wheels spun? Hitting backroads at speed is much more important to me than drag racing. Thanks..

The I30 is a VLSD differential it is NOT a locking differential, despite what junk yards or www.carpart.com says.

For a road course VLSD is better than open, Quaife or other LSD (there's no other option for 4th gens that I know of)is better than VLSD.

What does the V stand for? And is Cattman the only place you can order the Quaife at? Thanks.
