Track on the 20th of Sept.

I am going to AutobahnCountryClub.net next month, owner of my dealership is a big racer (ferraris and lotus) and hooked us up with a RACE day over at the track. 250 dollars gets me *5* -20 min- sessions, or 6 if they can fit it in. Instructor for people who never raced, and a really nice lunch.

Anyways, I have a possible one spot open for a friend who could run their car, anyone with a Maxima wanna run ?

I need to bring the Max up to race specifications, that means corner weight the car, align it, new rear shocks( Rebuild at JIC), camera mount, 1 racing seat, possibly TechnoSquare ECU- most importantly get rid of my 300ZX/Blehmco brake kit. I found that my OEM calipers/Rotors with Hawk pads give me better controll over the car when trail braking. Plus the heavy 04 Max rotors slow me down, and warp way too eassy.

I have this idea of pulling out my fog lights and creating some brake cooling vents to draw fresh air right to the brakes. I am also thinking of doing the same thing with my CAI. Since its going to be late Sept the weather should be a little bit cooler to give me some good runs. Eighter way I got a tough month ahead of me that will cost me quite a few $$$.

That sounds like alot of fun and very reasonably priced. Sounds like youve got your work cut out for you to prepare for the event. I dont know if they have any courses like that around here.

Just do a google search for track days, NASA, EMRA, PDE, CC-something, BMWclub, Miata club all have track days for around that price. Tracks incluce VIR, Summit point, Pocono, Watkins Glen, Lime rock, etc..

Good luck BlackBIRDVQ, I was running NASA at Pocono most recently, I ran a mostly stock 97 max (check my homepage for picks), but I didn't need to duct the brakes, they worked fine, and I would be surprised if you overheat them in September.

I am not to worried bout overheating the brakes in Sept but I am considering doing brake duct work for future events. I have good faith in my Hawk HPS, stock rotors and calipers with some RBF600 Motul and Goodridge lines.

I'm trying to get a TechnoSquare ECU with custom timing map tune done before the even if possible. I got rear trailing arm bushing from ES coming, and I already got the fronts installed. I need to make a appoitment with a shop thats going to align it for me and corner weight it. There will be some 00-02 Audi S4s out at the track also I belive and I do not wanna be seeing their tail lights.

Have a great time out there. I've seen video's and it's a beautiful track. I just might try Heartland next month when I'm out there. $35 for 75min of tracktime!
